The recipe below is one of my favorites – give it a try…
Wacky Cake
3 cups flour
3/8 cup cocoa (6 tablespoons)
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
Mix Well...
Then combine:
2 cups cold water
¾ cup salad oil
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix well into dry ingredients and pour into a greased pan
25 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
After baking I usually top with a favorite toping. Chocolate fudge works great. You can poke some round holes with a wooden spoon handle in a grid pattern (2" x 2") into the top of the cake and let the fudge run into the holes and on top… really good.
